Batch ZIP code lookup

Paste up to 1,000 street addresses, one per line, to get the ZIP code, county and coordinates for each.

Tips for better matches

  • Put a comma between the street, the city and the state.
  • Leave out apartment, unit and suite numbers; they don't change the 5-digit ZIP code.
  • PO Box and rural route addresses won't match; use the city's ZIP code list instead.
  • One address only? Use the ZIP code lookup by address.

Frequently asked questions

How many addresses can I look up at once?

Up to 1,000 per batch. For larger lists, split them into batches of 1,000.

What format should addresses be in?

One address per line, with commas between street, city and state: 1600 Pennsylvania Ave NW, Washington, DC. A ZIP code at the end is optional. Leave out apartment and suite numbers.

Where do the results come from?

From the U.S. Census Bureau's free batch geocoder, which matches street addresses to Census address ranges. Unmatched addresses are usually new streets, PO Boxes, rural routes or typos.

Are my addresses stored?

No. They pass through our server to the Census Bureau and aren't saved.
